Outlined below is the information that we require to offer appropriate and timely quotations and/or to fulfill your order requirements.

Standard Pipe Flange Gaskets

Full Face Pipe Gaskets

Full Face Pipe Flange gaskets cover the full face of the flange from the nominal bore to the outside diameter of the flange. The gasket can be located by any two bolts. Full Face Pipe Gaskets are normally specified for plate flanges or for flanges without a raised face or in installations where access is difficult and ease of installation is important.

A Standard Full Face Pipe Flange Gasket can be specified fully without a drawing however we need the following parameters:

• The outside diameter of the flange
• The inside diameter of the flange or nominal bore of the pipe. In some installations to keep the pipe bore completely smooth, a tube bore gasket whose inside diameter is the exact bore of the pipe may be required; in such cases the correct ID needs to be specified
• The number of bolt holes required
• The diameter of the bolt holes, and
• The pitch circle diameter of the bolt holes which is the diameter of the circle on which the bolt holes are centered. The pitch circle diameter is best measured as the distance between any two diametrically apposed holes measured from the inside of one and the outside of the other along the diagonal.
• The specification of the material from which the gasket is to be made, and
• The thickness of the material required.

Ring Face Pipe Gaskets

Ring Face Pipe Flange gaskets cover the raised face of the flange from the nominal bore to the inside diameter of the bolt holes of the flange. The gasket needs at least three bolts to be located. Ring Face Pipe Gaskets are normally specified for flanges with a raised machined faced.

A Standard Ring Face Pipe Gasket can be specified fully without a drawing however we need the following information:

• The inside diameter of the flange or nominal bore of the pipe. In some installations to keep the pipe bore completely smooth a tube bore gasket whose inside diameter is the exact bore of the pipe may be required; in such cases the correct ID needs to be specified
• The outside diameter of the gasket obtained by subtracting the diameter of a bolt hole from their pitch circle diameter which is the diameter of the circle on which the bolt holes are centered. The pitch circle diameter is best measured as the distance between any two diametrically apposed holes measured from the inside of one and the outside of the other along the diagonal.
• The specification of the material from which the gasket is to be made, and
• The thickness of the material required.

Custom Gaskets

Universal Gaskets designs and manufactures gaskets to our Customers’ requirements and where there is no applicable standard it is safer to provide a drawing, sketch or sample of the gasket required or if non of these are available, the actual item to be sealed.

• Where drawings are available, we prefer CAD drawings as we can upload them directly into or CAM software saving time and costs and hence the final price of the gasket. If the drawing only shows the overall dimensions of the gaskets we still require:
  • The specification of the material from which the gasket is to be made, and
  • The thickness of the material require
