Copper

Copper is an exceptional conductor of heat and electricity, with excellent corrosion resistance and natural antimicrobial properties. We stock pure copper sheet and shim in hard, half-hard, and soft tempers for high-temperature gaskets, heat exchangers, earthing, and electrical applications.

Common Applications

  • High-temperature gaskets for exhaust and furnace applications
  • Heat exchanger and condenser gaskets
  • Earthing straps and grounding gaskets
  • Electrical contact gaskets and shielding
  • Cylinder head gaskets in legacy engines
  • Boiler and steam system gaskets
  • RF and EMI shielding gaskets
  • Cryogenic service gaskets
  • Precision shims for high-thermal-conductivity assemblies
  • Chemical plant gaskets for compatible media

Available Grades

Copper Sheet, Hard Temper (0.55–4 mm)

Full-hard copper sheet with high tensile strength and spring-like properties. We stock this for gaskets requiring dimensional stability under bolt load.

Copper Sheet (Half-Hard Temper)

Intermediate temper copper balancing formability and strength. Suitable for gaskets that need moderate forming without sacrificing seal integrity.

Copper Sheet in Soft Temper (Annealed)

Fully annealed copper with maximum ductility and conformability. Our preferred grade for gaskets on rough or uneven flange faces where the copper must flow to fill imperfections.

Copper Shim (0.076–0.25 mm)

Precision-rolled thin-gauge copper for shimming and spacing in assemblies requiring excellent thermal or electrical conductivity.
