Joint Sealant

PTFE-Based Thread & Flange Sealant

PTFE joint sealant is the thing that saves you at 2 am when the right gasket isn't in the store. It's a flexible cord that conforms to any flange face shape, thread form, or irregular surface, including pitted or scored faces that a flat gasket won't seal against. Multiple diameters, supplied on reels.

Types & Variants

Standard PTFE Cord

Expanded PTFE sealant cord for general-purpose flange and thread sealing. Suitable for water, gas, steam, and most chemicals.

Pre-Formed Strip

Flat PTFE strip for wide or shallow flange faces where round cord would not seat properly.

Common Applications

Emergency Gasket Replacement

When pre-cut gaskets are not available, joint sealant can be formed on site to seal flanges immediately.

Damaged Flange Faces

Conforms to pitted, corroded, or scored flange surfaces that a flat gasket cannot seal against.

Pipe Threads

Wraps onto pipe threads as a PTFE thread seal for pressurised connections in water, gas, and chemical lines.

Non-Standard Connections

Odd shapes, oval flanges, and equipment covers where standard gasket shapes are not manufactured.
