Glass, Carbon, Bronze & Stainless Steel Filled Grades
Filled PTFE
Filled PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) compounds blend virgin PTFE with inorganic fillers to improve mechanical strength, creep resistance, and thermal conductivity beyond what pure PTFE can achieve. We stock a range of filled PTFE sheet grades, each engineered to trade a small degree of chemical resistance for significantly better performance under load.

Common Applications
- High bolt-load flange gaskets requiring creep resistance
- Chemical processing where virgin PTFE cold-flows under load
- Pump and valve packing rings
- Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder seals
- Heat exchanger gaskets (bronze-filled for thermal conductivity)
- Rotating equipment wear rings and guide bushings
- Compressor rod packing sets
- Food and pharmaceutical seals (glass-filled FDA grades)
- Abrasive slurry and particulate service
- Cryogenic applications requiring dimensional stability
Available Grades
Brands we stock: Enflon, Fluorolon, Teflon, Garlock
Glass-Filled PTFE (15–25% Glass)
Food SafeWhite to off-white PTFE sheet filled with glass fibre for improved creep resistance and dimensional stability under load. Retains good chemical resistance and is our most popular filled PTFE grade for general chemical gasket applications.
Carbon-Filled PTFE (25% Carbon)
Black PTFE sheet filled with carbon particles, delivering the lowest coefficient of friction of any filled grade and excellent wear resistance. Widely used in dynamic seals, bearing surfaces, and compressor packing.
Bronze-Filled PTFE (40–60% Bronze)
Brown/bronze-coloured PTFE sheet with the highest thermal conductivity and compressive strength of all filled grades. Ideal for high-pressure seals, heat exchanger gaskets, and applications requiring maximum dimensional stability under thermal cycling.
Stainless Steel Filled PTFE
PTFE sheet filled with stainless steel particles for improved compressive strength and thermal conductivity with better corrosion resistance than bronze-filled grades. Used in aggressive chemical environments where mechanical performance is critical.
Garlock Gylon 3500 (Fawn, for Strong Acid & Broad Chemical)
Food SafeBiaxially-oriented PTFE with silica filler. Fawn-coloured. Rated -268 to 260 °C and 83 bar. Suited to strong acids (excluding HF), steam, solvents, hydrocarbons, chlorine, and cryogenic service. FDA and USDA compliant. ABS marine approved. Lower creep relaxation and sealability than conventional filled PTFE.
Garlock Gylon 3504 (Off-White; FDA Food & Pharma)
Food SafePTFE/silica sheet engineered for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and high-purity chemical service. FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant. Off-white colour. Combines food-contact certification with the creep and sealability advantages of the structured Gylon platform.
Garlock Gylon 3510 (Off-White: Strong Caustic & Chlorine)
PTFE filled with barium sulfate. Off-white colour. The Gylon family's caustic specialist, preferred over silica-filled 3500 for strong sodium hydroxide and ammonia service. Also rated for chlorine, water, steam, hydrocarbons, and aluminium fluoride. Lower creep relaxation (11%) than 3500. FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant.
Garlock Gylon 3545 (Yellow: Oxidiser & Aggressive Chemical)
PTFE with proprietary filler engineered for chlorine, bleach, and strong oxidiser service. Yellow colour. The filler system resists oxidising media that would attack the silica or barium sulfate fillers in 3500/3510. Available on request (no formal stock holding).
